The Lapara Flight Simulator can be mistaken for a ruse or a joke.  And while it does have some comical elements, it is based on the Link Trainer.  This is a 1930's flight trainer, where the pilot would climb into a small 3 foot mock-up with no windows, and flight is simulated by a link to a map on a nearby desk.  We have added some space-age decor, and updated the design to a more 1950's model.  These were in use at least through the 1940's due to World War II.
